Today marks a year since the start of Russia’s war on Ukraine. The war has caused death, destruction, and suffering on a scale unseen in Europe since the times of WWII. Now, as we did when the war started, and as we will continue to, European Guanxi strongly condemns the actions undertaken by the Russian state.
The Kremlin claims the invasion is a response to Western and NATO influence in Ukraine. However, the attack on Ukraine must be seen for what it is: an unprovoked invasion of a sovereign nation with the intent to undermine its democratic will and right to self-determination, implemented with cynical destructive force. Before and since the war started, the Russian government has refused offers for negotiations and peace talks extended by the European Union and other international actors.
European Guanxi stands together with the people of Ukraine in opposition to Putin's invasion. We express our deepest solidarity with the Ukrainian people, and we hold in high regard those within Russia who fight against the tyranny of this unjust war. Slava Ukraini.
