When the EU and China established diplomatic relations in 1975, the world was very different. This panel will explore how EU-China relations fit into the broader shifts in the global order, including the rise of the “Global South,” multipolarity, and the international legal order (Panelists TBA).
Panel 2: Artificial Intelligence
Following the release of DeepSeek, AI has been cemented as a central frontier of both collaboration and competition. This panel will examine how the “AI race” reshapes EU-China relations, as well as its current and future impacts on these bilateral relations (Panelists TBA).
Panel 3: Trade and Economics
Trade and economics remain the most important factors underpinning the bilateral relations. This panel will discuss the economic dimensions of EU-China relations, including de-risking, investment and industrial policies, and the recalibration of supply chains (Panelists TBA).
