About the Event

About the speaker: Enrico Toti taught Comparative Law and International Law at the Shanghai International Studies University, where he was awarded the certificate of merit for "Exceptional dedication to the teaching activity carried out". He has held lectures and seminars at Columbia University, Beijing Normal University and other Chinese universities and conferences in Italy and China. He is the author and editor of numerous publications on Chinese Law and translations into Italian of the main Chinese civil, corporate and IP laws. He is the founder of Cinalex website ( In 2020 he published, as author, the monographic text Diritto cinese dei contratti e sistema giuridico romanistico. Tra legge e dottrina. He is also a lawyer in charge of the China desk (Milan office) at Nctm Law firm.

About the webinar: China’s legal system is vast and complex, and strong information on the subject is difficult to obtain. Enrico Toti will try to provide a comprehensive look at the system including how it works in practice, with theoretical and historical support, and how it might evolve.

Our moderator: Malvina Montini is a 26-year-old Italian student. She is currently pursuing a Master’s Double Degree in International Science and China Studies at University of Turin and Zhejiang University. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chinese language and culture at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. She spent two years in China thanks to a Double Degree Program between Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and Capital Normal University (Beijing) during her Bachelor’s degree. She is very passionate about Chinese language and culture, as well as International Relations.
