About the Event
Geopolitical turbulences – Towards a new world order?
Event Description
The aftermath of the Covid-19 crisis has exposed a silent reorganization of geopolitical power, one unfolding beneath a world order that is straining to hold its shape. Economist Jean-Joseph Boillot joins European Guanxi to examine the structural ruptures now reshaping the post-pandemic landscape.
Public confidence in the future has eroded to unprecedented depths. From collapsing fertility rates across both developed and developing economies to the accelerating destabilization brought by rising global temperatures, populations are increasingly skeptical of their governments' capacity to deliver a sustainable trajectory, demographically, ecologically, or economically. At the same time, a wave of technological disruption, amplified by the rapid ascent of artificial intelligence, is redefining the boundaries of innovation and adaptability in what many are calling the 4th industrial revolution.
These converging forces, coupled with the gradual withdrawal of traditional regulatory powers such as the United States from global stewardship, appear to have induced a deeper geopolitical realignment. China is emerging, against many expectations, as a pillar of relative stability, while the Global South asserts a more prominent role in the redistribution of international influence.
Join us for a sharp, analytically driven session that maps these fault lines and examines what they signal for the emerging world order. Whether your work or studies spans trade, finance, energy, or policy, the shifts discussed in this session will be difficult to ignore.
