The event is a relaxed conversation on the current evolution of the CCP and the Chinese Political System, as well as a discussion on some points in the book 'The China Model'. The aim of the event is to shed light on the Chinese political process (values, structure, current & future trends, etc.).
The objective of this conversation is to help Western listeners grasp the identity of the Chinese political system, in order to allow the audience understand its main characteristics and trends.
🗣Daniel A. Bell (贝淡宁)is Dean of the School of Political Science and Public Administration at Shandong University (Qingdao) and Visiting Chair Professor at Fudan University (Shanghai). He is from Montreal and was educated at McGill University and Oxford University.
His latest book (co-authored with Wang Pei) Just Hierarchy: Why Social Hierarchies Matter in China and the Rest of the World was published by Princeton University Press in March 2020. In 2018, he was awarded the Huilin Prize and was honored as a "Cultural Leader" by the World Economic Forum. In 2019 he was awarded the Special Book Award of China.
