European Guanxi Youth Conference 2025

50 Years of EU-China Relations: Challenges and Oppurtunities

On September 5 2025, European Guanxi once again hosted the European Guanxi Youth Conference (EGYC) on the premises of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) in Brussels.

This year's EGYC core theme was 50 Years of EU-China Relations: Challenges and Oppurtunities. We covered a variety of topics such as Global Order, Artificial Intelligence and Trade and Economics.

The first panel, titled "Global Order" explored the evolution of EU-China relations within the context of global shifts, including the rise of the Global South, multipolarity, and the changing international legal landscape.

The conference continued with Panel 2: Artificial Intelligence which examined how advancements in AI, particularly the release of DeepSeek, have influenced the bilateral dynamics between the EU and China, reshaping both competition and collaboration in this rapidly evolving field.

Finally, Panel 3: Trade and Economics focused on the economic underpinnings of EU-China relations, covering topics such as de-risking, investment policies, industrial strategies, and the recalibration of global supply chains.
